In the media woman are most commonly portrayed as sexual objects.Through the way they dress to the way they conduct themselves, directors will force woman to display themselves as sexual objects whose purpose is the pleasure of men as well as setting the example for other woman that this is all that they should be doing.
They are represented as damsels who require men to be their hero or the man to provide for them financially as well as in terms of approval.
The media can also be deceiving as woman may be given a protagonist role and are supposedly a hero, however they may still be victims of sexualisation. Across all media platforms woman are objectified, and there are few examples where woman are enabled to genuinely oppose this. It can be seen that in news there are attempts to empower woman by letting them report the serious news. However they are still judged on their appearance and how they conduct themselves.

In the media men are represented as heroes and strong. They are always capable and independent and are rarely questioned like woman would be.
