Representation questions

In the image Nicki Minaj; a famous female rap/pop artist is being represented.
She is represented as sexy and mysterious with secrets to be told.
The genre of the magazine comes within fashion and beauty.
The representation of Nicki Minaj is supported by her costume which is a tight, black leather jacket and tight, black trousers. The jacket is partially unzipped revealing some of the protagonists' cleavage supporting the representation of sexualising her. The text then supports the representation that she is mysterious as it states that the article contains exclusive information that people did not know about the celebrity beforehand.
The main images and cover lines are foregrounded as they are what will draw in the audiences attention. The magazine title is backgrounded as maybe it's not as popular a magazine and is trying to use its content as it's unique selling point rather than popular brand name.
It is the magazines representation of Nicki Minaj.

Media products are produced and distributed to audiences in different ways. I Daniel Blake was produced as an independent film as it had little funding with aid from multiple production companies including; BBC films, Wild Bunch, Why Not Productions and the BFI. Independent films are funded by public funding e.g. the national lottery, by individual investment where people bring their own money and through co-productions where multiple companies come together to produce and distribute the media, splitting the costs and profits. Riptide narrative codes and conventions

In the Riptide music video there are elements of coherence throughout where by montage is used to constantly go back to shots of the woman as well as the sea where the riptides are. This consistency throughout is clear evidence of coherence. There is evidence of postmodernism in the video through the key postmodern aspect of nostalgia where the lyrics state what the singer was once scared of and with the lyrics matching the visuals this puts additional emphasis on the sense of nostalgia, showing this music videos postmodern approach. The riptide is very literal and relates to roland barthes theory that constructed meanings can come to seem self evident.
