black feminism/ intertextuality- Black feminism is a school of thought stating that sexism, class oppression, gender identity and racism are inextricably bound together. The way these concepts relate to each other is called intersectionality.

 black is beautiful- Black is beautiful is a cultural movement that was started in the US in the 1960s by African Americans. It later spread beyond the United States, most prominently in the writings of the Black Conciousness Movement of Steve Biko in South Africa.It aims to dispel the racist notion that black people's natural features such as skin color, facial features and hair are inherently ugly. 

 blackgirlmagic- is a concept born as a way to crlebrate the beauty, power and resilience of a black woman.

i daniel blake, production and distribution

Media products are produced and distributed to audiences in different ways. I Daniel Blake was produced as an independent film as it had little funding with aid from multiple production companies including; BBC films, Wild Bunch, Why Not Productions and the BFI. Independent films are funded by public funding e.g. the national lottery, by individual investment where people bring their own money and through co-productions where multiple companies come together to produce and distribute the media, splitting the costs and profits. Riptide narrative codes and conventions

In the Riptide music video there are elements of coherence throughout where by montage is used to constantly go back to shots of the woman as well as the sea where the riptides are. This consistency throughout is clear evidence of coherence. There is evidence of postmodernism in the video through the key postmodern aspect of nostalgia where the lyrics state what the singer was once scared of and with the lyrics matching the visuals this puts additional emphasis on the sense of nostalgia, showing this music videos postmodern approach. The riptide is very literal and relates to roland barthes theory that constructed meanings can come to seem self evident. We can see this throughout as when the lyrics are song the images displayed are matching and this therefore makes a very obvious meaning showing they mean exactly what they are saying, with clear cut connotations.
