In the magnificent 7 duel scene there is instances of repetition in the genre and also evidence of difference. The first sign of repetition of the western film genre is the setting. In the first shot if the scene it can be seen that the it is set in a desert type location such as is standard in a western film. There are people walking around dressed in classic cowboy/ western attire also riding on horses and bearing guns. The first piece of dialogue that can be heard states “fastest gun wins” which is a sign of repetition from common western type films as in many if these films there are gun duels where cowboys will challenge eachother in a gun duel and the person who draws and shoots the fastest will be the victor.  The first evidence of difference is when the shot displays the second member of the duel. Media products are produced and distributed to audiences in different ways. I Daniel Blake was produced as an independent film as it had little funding with aid from multiple production companies including; BBC films, Wild Bunch, Why Not Productions and the BFI. Independent films are funded by public funding e.g. the national lottery, by individual investment where people bring their own money and through co-productions where multiple companies come together to produce and distribute the media, splitting the costs and profits.
